The following election deadlines are based on Nebraska Law. Statewide election deadlines are provided to the Election Commission by the Secretary of State and are approved by the Attorney General.

2026 Valley City Council Election

Friday, December 12, 2025 Deadline for incumbents and non-incumbents to file for office.
Monday, December 22, 2025 Ballots mailed to voters within the City of Valley.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for mailed voter registrations to be postmarked.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for voter registration at agencies.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for voter registration at DMV office.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for voter registration by deputy registrar, 6:00 p.m.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for voter registration form to be delivered to the election office by someone other than the person registering, for the person to be registered to vote in an upcoming election.
Monday, December 29, 2025 Deadline for online voter registration, prior to midnight.
Friday, January 2, 2026 Deadline for in-person voter registration at election commission office, 6:00 p.m.
Friday, January 2, 2026 Deadline for voter to request a replacement ballot to be mailed, 6:00 p.m.
Friday, January 2, 2026 Deadline for write-in candidate to file notarized affidavit and filing fee with filing officer or to withdraw a previously filed write-in affidavit, 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 6, 2026 Recommended last day to return ballot by mail via US Postal Service.
Tuesday, January 13, 2026 City of Valley Special City Council Election Day.
Tuesday, January 13, 2026 Deadline for voter to submit a statement for a replacement ballot in person at election commission office, 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 13, 2026 Deadline to return all ballots to election commission office or drop box location, 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 20, 2026 Deadline to present valid photographic ID to election office by a voter without a reasonable impediment who failed to present valid photographic ID at the time of voting.
Friday, January 23, 2026 Deadline for verification of provisional ballots, 5:00 p.m.

Monday, April 6, 2026 First day for early voting ballots to be mailed.
